Nkombo and Kambwili apply to join impeachment court proceedings

Mazabuka UPND lawmaker Garry Nkombo and PF Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili have applied to join the case in which PF sponsored crooks have blocked the impeachment motion before parliament through the Lusaka High Court.
The motion to impeach Edgar Lungu for violation of the republican constitution was moved by Hon Garry Nkombo and seconded by Hon Chishimba Kambwili but the motion was not tabled for discussion though Deputy Speaker Namugala confirmed that the motion met all requirements.
The PF has however engaged in panic mode and is making frantic efforts to block the motion from being tabled in parliament as they are not sure if their members of parliament will protect Lungu or vote with the opposition.
Earlier the Lusaka High Court stopped the decision by the Speaker of the National Assembly to allow the notice of motion to Impeach President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
Delivering the ruling in a matter where two PF cadres were sponsored to sue the Attorney General seeking Judicial Review of the decision by the Speaker of the National Assembly to entertain the tabling of the impeachment motion, Justice Bobo Banda said the High Court has stayed the decision of the Speaker of the National Assembly to table the Impeachment Motion until the matter is fully determined by the court.
The PF has been arguing that there was no presidential petition related cases before the courts of law in Zambia but has now changed that some grounds in the impeachment motion should not be entertained by the Speaker as they were already before the courts.
