No honorary degrees, says Chifumo Banda

The National Constitutional Conference (NCC) has clarified that only university degrees obtained through academic studying will be admissible for one to stand as president of Zambia.

NCC chairperson Chifumu Banda made the clarification Tuesday afternoon during the ongoing deliberations.

Banda said that honorary degrees will not be acceptable.

He said only degrees obtained by attending lectures or by correspondence will be considered.
