The Litunga through the Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE)  told Michael Sata’s police that Mr. Hichilema was the Litunga’s guest  arresting him means arresting the Litunga himself.

Earlier, more than 300 hundred heavily armed police officers attempted to block Mr. Hichilema’s entourage after they visited Limulunga, the Litunga’s palace.

Mr. Hichilema went to pay a courtesy call on the Lozi King and pay homage and greet the Litunga after he lost the wife recently.

It took the intervention of the Litunga himself through his entire Indunas for the police to remove the barricades and allow the UPND team to drive to Mongu town.

Later BRE, under directive from the Litunga, went to the police to ask why they were stopping the opposition leader from mourning with him after he lost the wife.

The UPND was later  in the afternoon expected to hold in-door meetings and welcome defectors from PF and other political parties.
