No third term for Lungu, says HH

No third term for Lungu, says HH

We have noted the Constitutional court’s decision to give Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu a possible third term office and participate in the future elections.

Using our collective skills, we are examining this decision carefully and will inform the nation of our detailed reaction in due course.

For now, we would like to clearly state that no one is entitled to a third term of office as President of this country.

This is because when courts fail to protect citizens, the citizens, have the power to map their own destiny through people power.

At the same time we would like to remind those who want more than what the constitution states that before even talking about a third term, they must check themselves on their capacity to deliver jobs, better health care, food and and a resounding economy supported by constitutionalism.

For us it’s Zambia and Zambians first.

And remember; people power! Our power! Our land.

*Hakainde Hichilema*
*UPND President.*

It would appear that HH has not fully understood what a PRESIDENTIAL TERM means under the current Zambian Constitution.Just to refresh his memory, the Zambian Constitution simply defines a PRESIDENTIAL TERM IN OFFICE AS ONE THAT IS 3 TO 5 YEARS . In other words a person to qualify as having completed a term as President,he or she must have HELD or occupied State House as President for a period NOT LESS THAN 3 YEARS.Between 2015 and mid of 2016,ECL Held office of President FOR A PERIOD that was less than THREE YEARS.So where does the THIRD TERM COME FROM?

After the courts favored Lungu at Mulungushi when instead of voting cadres just raised pangas, after the courts blocked the presidential petition, after what we see everyday, the misapplication of the public order act and instilling fear into citizens who exercise their fundamental rights, this judgement was expected, so sad to say this. However, nothing is permanent and justice will one day be served. We will be liberated from this dictatorship disguised as democracy one day. God is not asleep!

It is one Zambia one nation and not one Zambia two nations. Look, don’t be in a hurry to judge the Con-court just because you are in a hurry to rule people. Not only that, but why do you want to plunge Zambia into political chaos simply because you and you yourself want to sit on that chair on plot number 1? No! stop that greedy mind people. Zambia is for all Zambians not for few capitalists who can bulldoze their way because they are helped by the questionable accumulated wealth obtained on the expense of the majority poor Zambians. What is your problem about you challenging Lungu in the Polls? Mind about organising your party and prepare for elections instead of wasting your energy fighting Lungu over Concourt ruling. That is where you miss it and that is how you have lost in the past because you dwell on the irrelevant issues. Campaign and tell Zambians how you are going to do/rule them differently. Debate and talk issues and stop debating individuals. That is how they have beaten you in the past. Who is your political adviser? Please change him/her before it is too late. He/she is toxic as you could have ruled Zambia already by now. He/she has done enough damage to you and possibly to Zambians especially if you were meant to do something far different to the advantage of the country and Zambians. For now please accept the verdict and move on. Listen, Zambians are very objective if you stand for elections and you are said to have won the polls, they will fight for you themselves and you will not even go and line up to fight for yourself. Lastly, be a listener. Don’t close your ears. Those closest to you will mislead you. Don’t count much on the money and don’t weigh them on their wealth, but the have nots can put you in state. The wealth people will always mislead you as it is not all of them that mean well. Only a few do. Lungu is there on the account of the poor. Respect them please. There are people who do not have enough to give to your party but with rich knowledge of advice which will cross you over

All Institutions of governance in the country need complete overhaul. We have nothing left for our people. We have nowhere to run to. Because of selfish individuals at the helm of leadership, we have become a laughing stock in the comity of nations. Shame on the judiciary, shame on the police service, shame on all those compromised institutions for they have abandoned their noble duty of defending the constitution in preference for their bellies.

Which Third term for ECL bo Kainde?kkkkkkkkk…Just prepare to face Mighty PF under Edgar Lungu in 2021 who will be well sponsored by Chinese firms and since PF’s 6.5 provinces as strongholds are intact,i feel sorry for HH because we can only predict a 6th straight loss for him and that would mark the end of him as “cuundu chaitwa” UPND leader!!!ZAMBIA IS PEACEFUL TODAY AS COMPARED TO WHAT HAPPENED WHEN FTJ CHILUBA ATTEMPTED TO GO FOR A THIRD TERM.This confirms that majority Zambians understand our constitution which clearly states that a presidential term should be 3 years or more!!!From 2015 to 2016,ECL ruled Zambia for 1 year plus, hence this cant said to be a TERM!!!
COME 2021 NI PF NAFUTI NAFUTI!!

Okay lets say ECL does not stand for president in 2021, and PF fields another candidate, what makes UPND think they will win the election?

It may look like victory for PF but the truth of the matter is that ECL is no longer credible and has messed up. The Party was going to perform better with someone else at the helm and not failed ECL and his mentor RB.

HH is encouraged to study the Constitutional provisions on which the Concourt relied to declare ECL AS HAVING SERVED one Term which is the one from 2016 to 2021.The period he served from 2015 to middle of 2016 falls short of THREE years for one to qualify as having served a full term as President of this great country.
