PF officials and cadres in Northern Province have continued to resign in great numbers to join the opposition UPND.
The latest being the defection of over 150 party officials in Kasama led by strongman Nathan Ilunga.
The defectors attributed their resignation to intolerance and hatred among the party leaders as the reason for ditching the ruling party.
Other notables that have defected include PF provincial vice information and publicity secretary Everest Bwalya, PF Kasama central constituency chairman Abraham Mulenga and Kasama deputy mayor Mutale Chibeka.
Bwalya said PF is currently in a mess and nothing can serve it from collapsing following the continuous defection of party members to the opposition.
He said time has come for Zambians to elect a new government that is serious in attending to the welfare of people.
And Chibeka said it is a matter of time before Zambians realize that they voted for a wrong party while Abraham Mulenga said UPND is a party of the moment.
Meanwhile, Ilunga, who is former campaign manager for Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, has taken up the chairmanship of UPND in Northern Province and has pledged to recruit new members before next year’s general elections.
