The technical Committee drafting the new constitution says the final draft document will only be ready after the national convection is held.
Committee spokesperson Simon Kabanda says this will be after the people of Zambia participate through the provincial conventions and sector groups where they will be expected to make recommendations on the draft constitution.
He told QFM radio that sector groups will include citizens, stakeholders from the NGOs, the church and business community among others.
Kabanda explained that from the provincial conventions and sector groups, representatives will be chosen to take part in the national convention where the final draft constitution will be produced.
He added that the committee is working hard to ensure that it produces the final document which is expected to be put to a referendum by June this year while the first draft constitution will be ready by the end of February.
