PF Secretary general and Justice minister Edgar Lungu and his clique have threatened to knock out all pro Kabimba supporters currently in the PF, Lungu says he does not want them to make his work difficult.
Speaking in Mkushi during the PF political rally, the alcoholic Lungu boasted that ailing President Michael Sata had faith in him and had retained him as disciplinary committee chairperson in addition to his new position of party SG. He confirmed that after his appointment, he has been receiving calls that he should fire certain people from the PF because they were loyal to the fallen SG Wynter Kabimba, he described Kabimba’s loyalists as detractors whom he shall knock out.
And PF insiders have told the Watchdog that a massive showdown is looming in the PF as a hunt for Kabimba loyalists has been launched. The hunt is likely to see a number of district commissioners who got appointments through Kabimba kicked out, others are provincial chairman who were also appointed by Kabimba.
According to the source, some of the provincial chairmen earmarked for dismissal are Eastern province’s Attan Mwamba, Central province’s Benson Chali and Nickson Chilangwa of Luapula province.
Copperbelt chairman Sturdy Mwale who was a pro Kabimba supporter but quickly changed camp and mobilized supporters to ‘celebrate’ the fall of Kabimba has since suspended Luanshya MP Steven Chungu for staying away from the celebration march.
As the battle looms, Post newspapers editor Fred Mmembe has continued disclosing that Sata’s power has been hijacked by a tribal clique. Mmembe has now extended his fight to his rival newspaper the independent Daily nation by insulting the paper’s editor Richard Sakala, whom he also labeled as an ex convict who cannot do anything constructive.
