Now Lungu and his PF offer Post journalists bribes

Outgoing President and Zambian dictator Edgar Lungu has now instructed State agents and some party functionaries to target individual reporters at the Post Newspaper to offer them jobs and “cash” with a view to isolate Fred M’membe and further cripple the Newspaper.

The Watchdog is informed that should all thus fail and the papers its disputed taxes, the PF regime will try to arrest M’membe for tax evasion.

Intelligence sources told the Zambian Watchdog that President Lungu has vowed that the Post Newspaper should not be operational during this period until after the elections.

“We have received instructions through DG (Director General) Mr Nkhoma that we target individual reporters at the Post so that Fred M’membe can be isolated and fail to publish. The idea is that we offer them cash and some jobs in government specifically in the special branch where rules for engagement can easily be changed and where we have a lot of money that doesn’t need to be accounted for.

“The President has received representations from many donor counties and he is under pressure but he has vowed that the paper must remain closed,” revealed the source.

The source revealed that disgraced former Afronet Executive director Ngande Mwanajiti was currently working with some named reporters from the Zambia Daily Mail, Times of Zambia and ZNBC using state recourses to publish a Newspaper to counter any adverse publish type about the Post.

“Mwanajiti is position himself as a media specialist so he has been given some reporters he is working with in the public media to discredit the Post and Fred M’membe. Mwanajiti and Richard Sakala the proprietor of the Daily Nation have personal issues with Fred so they are pushing Edgar on the Post,” revealed the source.

Mwanajiti is currently facing criminal charges for stealing public resources during the Rupiah Banda regime. He used the stolen money to publish a newspaper that was dedicated to insult Michael Sata.

According to the source, most of the Post reporters that have been approached so far have resisted the scheme.

“We don’t know what Fred has done to these reporters because they are so loyal to him. Most of them have turned down these lucrative offers of jobs and money,” revealed the source.

Edgar Lungu is emerging as Africa’s fastest developing dictator.
