All the callers to the Kasama based Radio Mano have condemned the behavior of ailing dictator Michael Sata’s hired thugs who blocked UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema’s trip to pay a courtesy call on Paramount Chief Chitimukulu yesterday.
The callers monitored by the Watchdog in Kasama said it was shameful that in this era and age, people would sink so low and cause violence on the opposition leader who had an appointment with Bashi Lubemba.
One of the callers said whoever sponsored those thugs was a disgrace to modern Zambia and the loving people of Kasama and that such acts on the opposition leader must be uninamously condemned.
Another caller said what happened on HH has actually made the people of Kasama to love the opposition leader more and that they were now going to start organizing the opposition UPND in the area and vote for HH anytime.
“What is even more disgraceful and shameful is that these thugs even beat up members of the Bemba Royal Establishment that had gone to welcome Mr. Hichilema. These thugs should know that they are not the only voters in Kasama and this Sata has actually failed on many issues. Next time we shall try Mr. Hichilema who commands respect even for our traditional leadership,” one caller said.
Other callers condemned the behavior of the police who could not arrest the people responsible despite them being well-known thugs all the time.
The UPND leader with his entourage that included former deputy speaker of National Assembly Mutale Nalumango, members of the Bashi Lubemba royal family, and some MPS, was yesterday attacked by PF cadres wielding weapons among them pangas, knives and axes under the direction of Mr. Sata himself.
Mr. Hichilema has embarked on country-wide party mobilization tours that have so far seen him well-received in Malambo and Katete Eastern province, Solwezi and Mwinilunga in North-Western province, and various areas on the Copperbelt.
The country has lately witnessed massive violence perpetuated by the ruling PF thugs, sometimes fighting among themselves to a point of breaking government property in presence of the police who normally remain powerless to act.
