Several PF MPs from Luapula province are now demanding that Luapula province PF chairman Nixon Chilangwa vacates the chairmanship for betrayal after accepting to be appointed asparty Secretary general yesterday.

The decision to have Chilangwa who is also Kawambwa MP and home affairs deputy minister was arrived at last evening during a meeting held at Chita lodge in Lusaka. The meeting was also attended by Ronald Chitotela and Rogers Mwewa, the MPs for Pambashe and Mwansabombwe constituencies and Chipili MP Davis Mwila who is tipped to take over the chairmanship.

Chilangwa who became the provincial chairman after the death of Kennedy Sakeni has been accused of being a sellout who has been using his physical disability to win political favours. He has also been accused of having schemed the corruption charges against Chitotela and Mwewa who were eventually fired from their ministerial positions by late President Sata.

“Chilangwa is a sellout and cannot be trusted. How does he betray the conscious of Luapula? We know that he is being used by the Kabimba team to fight other members but he needed to exercise maturity and reject the position given to him by Scott, it is good it was reversed and now we don’t want him as provincial chairman,” said one MP.

Yesterday Chilangwa, a Fred M’membe cartel member made history as the shortest lived Secretary general after his appointment was reversed barely 12 hours after he was appointed.
