Oasis forum takes constitution ‘yapping’ to Kabwe

The Oasis forum is today, Friday 25th April 2014 expected to hold a stakeholders’ meeting in Kabwe on the need to release the final draft constitution currently being blocked by PF.

Sources from the organization told the Zambian Watchdog that they will not be deterred by ailing dictator Michael Sata’s uncalled for remarks on calls for the release of the draft constitution and are determined to continue ‘yapping’ everywhere.

“We are determined to take the demand for the constitution all over the country and tomorrow we are going to Kabwe. Whether Mr. Sata likes it or not or even if he calls our demand as yapping we shall be yapping everywhere until the right thing is done,” said the source.

Oasis forum is composed of church mother bodies, Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) and some civil society organizations and was instrumental in stopping the third term bid by late President Fredrick Chiluba when Sata served as MMD national secretary in 2001.

Recently, Sata urged his ministers to ignore the people demanding for the release of the draft constitution as they were merely yapping.
