One week no water in Kasama

 

An acute water crisis has hit Kasama District in Northern province forcing residents to fetch water from shallow wells.

According to Radio Mano news in Kasama, the water shortage has persisted for almost one week now, forcing residents to fetch the commodity from unsafe sources.

Northern Province Permanent Secretary Hlobotha Nkunika has described the water situation as regrettable.

Mr Nkunika however, stated that some emergency measures have been put in place to mitigate the critical shortage.

Kasama residents said lack of water has negatively affected their daily activities.
