Two local, public opinion polls have put UPND’ Hakainde Hichilema ahead of other presidential contestants. A poll by radio QFM puts HH at 53% followed by Edgar Lungu at 43%. Edith Nawakwi is third at 9% per cent. Another opinion poll conducted by a local publication Zambian Eye puts HH way ahead of Lungu.
But Emmanuel Mwamba, one of the campaigners for Edgar Lungu has produced his own poll which puts Lungu ahead. Mwamba says the poll was conducted by a ‘reputable company but did not mention the company. Mwamba has in the past conducted such polls on the third term for late Fredrick Chiluba.
