Opposition leader arrested for defaming Lungu

Fourth Revolution Party President Eric Chanda has been arrested for defaming president Edgar Lungu.

On 9th May 2015 the 4R Leader allegedly said President Edgar Lungu had no moral right to warn State House staff against clubbing because the first assignment he took after his election was to go to Mfuwe to socialize, club and play pool.

Mr. Chanda was arrested this morning after he was summoned to appear for questioning at Central Police for defaming the head of state.
And Fourth Revolution Party Acting Spokesperson, Sandy Sindazi has told journalists that Mr. Chanda’s arrest is pure persecution as Police had to wait for almost a year to arrest him.
Meanwhile, Orange Alliance Deputy Spokesperson Ezra Ngulube is shocked with Mr. Chanda’s arrest and said the alliance is not shaken because this formula has been used by Government before to intimidate opposition political parties.
And police spokes person said she couldn’t comment on the matter because it is still going through thorough investigations.
