Opposition MPs want parliament to investigate FireTenders procurement

Sixty- four  members of parliament have petitioned Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini to appoint a committee that will help investigate the procurement of 42 fire tenders at $42 million.

The ACC has, however, said the tender procedure for the supply of the fire-fighting machines was followed.

The legislators include all UPND and some independent members of parliament.

Chipili independent member of parliament Jewis Chabi confirmed being among those who have petitioned the Speaker to constitute a committee that would independently look into the awarding of the fire tender contract.
