Panji claims polls won’t be fair because MMD has too much cash

People’s Pact Forum Interim President Colonel Panji Kaunda has charged that the September 20 elections will not be free and fair.

Kaunda told Hot FM that the polls might be free but certainly not fair as the playing field is not leveled because the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) has monies at its disposal.

He said the ruling party is abusing public funds and this is disadvantaging opposition parties as they do not have adequate resources.

Kaunda disclosed that MMD is importing campaign materials from foreign countries in the name of Government and paying no tax.

He further appealed to the ruling MMD to be prudent in the use of public funds and desist from abuse as such may lead to serious problems in future.
