Parliament this morning again adjourned early because of defects in the National Budget presented by Finance Minister, Alexander Chikwanda.
This was after Vubwi Member of Parliament Dr. Eustacio Kazonga raised a point of order on estimates of expenditure for Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
When it was discovered that figures for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs vault were inaccurate, parliament adjourned for ten minutes in order for government to consult.
But after parliament resumed, opposition Mps were not satisfied with Finance Minister Alexandra Chikwanda’s response as figures could still not add-up which prompted Parliament to adjourn early.
Earlier in the week Home Affairs deputy minister Alfrida Kansembe admitted that the budget had a lot of defects but chair of committee Mkondo Lungu ruled her out of order because that may have led to collapse of the entire budget.
