Parliament to debate and lift RB’s immunity tomorrow

Former Zambian President Rupiah Banda taParliament will today hear the motion  to lift former president Rupiah Banda’s immunity from prosectuion for crimes he may have comitted while serving as president.

Tomorrow, Friday 15, 2013, parliament will vote on the motion.

The Watchdog has been informed that a notice has been circulated to PF MPs and MPS from the opposition serving as deputry ministers in the PF regime.

Sources say no charges have been fixed to the notice but the voting will be done the same day.

The Watchdog has been informed that the MPS won’t be looking at the merits of the case but just to rubber stamp and fulfil the requirements of the law that the immunity was lifted bgy parliament.

The MPs from the UPND and MMD who are serving in the PF have all agreed to sell the former president for pieces of silver.

Today at 10 hours, PF MPs and their deputy minsiters from the opposition had a caucaus meeting where they agreed to vote in favour of lifting the immunity.
