The UPND says it is glad to hear that PF candidate Edgar Lungu, MMD candidate Nevers Mumba and FDD candidate Edith Nawakwi have all committed to participate in a televised Presidential debate with their candidate Hakainde Hichilema.
UPND campaign manager Dipak Patel says ‘this is an exciting prospect that can add to the current campaign period by giving viewers and voters the chance to evaluate the performance and policies of the candidates side by side.’
The debate will be hosted by the Economic Association of Zambia and is scheduled for 30th December, (19.00hrs Pamodzi Hotel, Lusaka), which date the candidates have all agreed to.
Patel said the debate would provide the Zambian public a unique opportunity to decide for themselves which candidate has the strongest vision for Zambia and the qualities to turn that vision into reality for the good of our country.
‘We are therefore grateful to the Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) for having arranged such a Presidential debate,’ Patel said in an email statement.
