Collins Mbesuma’s signing by Moroka Swallows has turned out to be bad news for his countryman Perry Mutapa, who has stopped training with the Dube Birds of South Africa.
“I’m in Zambia now,” says the former Orlando Pirates midfielder. “I was told by Swallows that there will be a problem with their foreign quota, because they now have a guy called Etienne Massoye [from Cameroon] and they have signed Collins obviously, which means there is no space for me, because they also said the Brazilians are still there, meaning they have reached their quota.
“In fact, my agent Alex Bondarenko arranged for me to train with University of Pretoria and I also played a friendly for them against Jomo Cosmos before I left on Friday afternoon for Zambia. Maybe something will come up for me at Tuks and I might come back,” he says.
