PF says its president Banda and Police chief supporting violence

Patriotic Front (PF) Aspiring Member of Parliament for Mandevu Jean Kapata has accused President Rupiah Banda of encouraging violence and using Zambia Police Inspector General Francis Kabonde as a tool to support hostility caused by Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) cadres.

Kapata said it is sad to see a police chief being used as though he were a party cadre so that he overlooks violent behaviour of certain individuals.

And Garry Chanda who is PF aspiring candidate for Kanyama said he could not understand why Zimbabwean law enforcement officers have to be engaged as though there is a state of emergency in the country.

Chanda added that it is sad to note that defence personnel in the nation are holding meetings targeting certain as opposed to defending the Zambian people.

Meanwhile, Dr.Guy Scott has said calls for PF members to defend themselves is an act of  common sense and not a call for  terror as claimed by certain sections of the media.

Scott also advised citizens that support PF to avoid any form of hooliganism and strive for calm and unity as the nation cannot afford to trade its peace, adding that violence has the potential to derail the country.
