PF president Edgar Lungu’s clergyman Fr. Frank Bwalya Friday morning got a rude shock from Kasama residents who rebuked for insulting their intelligence during a live programme on Radio Mano.
Speaking in local language, Bwalya claimed the people of Northern Province put together were mentally-bankrupt compared to former president Rupiah Banda alone, whom he claimed commands a lot of influence in Eastern Province.
He claimed that Banda is a wise man, who even buys him ‘chicken and chips’ for lunch, when the two meet for private business.
Bwalya advised northerners to have someone influential as Banda who can direct their reasoning and choice on certain matters like politics.
But his utterances sparked angry reaction from Kasama residents who accused Bwalya of being disrespectful to the local people by insinuating that Banda is now a saint.
The callers told Bwalya to stop abusing his marriage of convenience with PF to think that only people from Eastern Province can decide victory for Edgar Lungu in the presidential by-election.
They accused Bwalya of being a hypocrite and untrustworthy man of God who has lost direction by engaging in divisive politics.
Bwalya who sneaked into Kasama town on a private aircraft, is in the area to boost Lungu’s political fortunes that have collapsed.
