PF candidate owes CEEC, ZANACO K22 billion

HENRY COURTYARDAs residents of Mansa go to polls on Friday information has emerged that the Patriotic Front candidate Dr. Chitalu Chilufya does not want to go to parliament to serve the people of Mansa but is scared of Government grabbing his lodge because he owes it huge sums of money. According to information obtained, Dr. Chilufya owes the Citizen Economic Empowerment Commission K2 billion then and ZANACO US$ 4 million Zambian K 20 billion then.
The documentation reveal that Dr. Chilufya together with his wife Mutinta Mudenda obtained K 2 billion from CEEC to construct Henry Courtyard Lodge on 27/07/2010 a loan he has failed to pay to date. On 02 May 2013 Dr. Chilufya got US$ 4 million from ZANACO using the same lodge as collateral. He could not however pay back the K 2 billion he owes CEEC despite getting money from ZANACO. It is also not clear how ZANACO gave a loan of that magnitude when CEEC is threatening to seize the property. It is now clear why Chilufya recently crossed over from MMD to PF and paid huge sums of money to constituent, District and Provincial PF leaders to have him adopted as PF candidate. It is also very clear that Dr. Chilufya’s desire to stand in the Mansa by-elections is not motivated by the love to serve but to be safe from bailiffs and pay back the loans.
