PF condemns MMD’s failure to alleviate poverty, develop nation

Patriotic Front (PF) Chairperson for Local Government and Housing Given Lubinda has charged that the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) has failed in its quest to alleviate poverty in the country.

In an interview with radio phoenix Lubinda said the poverty levels can be seen in the way Government conducts the buying of produce from farmers who are subjected to harsh conditions by the state.

He said farmers are made to sell their maize at a price much lower than the cost of production, adding that farmers are gaining nothing as they are operating at a loss.

Meanwhile, PF Member Judith Kapijimpanga has challenged the ruling party to pin point its developmental programs in the country as it has failed in some areas.

Kapijimpanga said it is disheartening to note that development in districts like Mpika is just explained by MMD but cannot be seen by residents in the area.

She further advised the ruling party to focus on developing  the nation as a whole and not give preference to certain districts as they are meant to serve all Zambians.
