The Patriotic Front in Feira has differed over who to adopt as a Parliamentary candidate in the forthcoming June By-elections a source has told the Zambian Watchdog.
The source said the District Executive has preferred Patrick Ngoma as its candidate while the constituency executive has preferred a Pastor Gutinyu as its preferred candidate.
“There is nothing here. Everything is shattered. They can’t come up with a preferred candidate as the district wants to impose Ngoma on the constituency but the constituency want a Pastor Gutinyu” the source said.
Meanwhile the Patriotic Front leadership in Central Province has rejected the defection of Mkushi North MMD Member of Parliament Mutale Musonda to the PF.
PF Provincial Chairman Ben Chali said there were enough members in the party and the PF should now shut doors to defectors.
Mr. Chali said those joining the party now were afraid of losing elections in 2016. Chali is quoted by the Post Newspaper of Sunday 13/05/2013 as saying there are a lot of people in the PF that have been sacrificing for the party that would love to assume various leadership roles.
And a source within the Party said the PF in Central province would like the PF candidate that petitioned the Mkushi North seat to be the preferred candidate.
Mutale Musonda resigned from MMD to join the PF after realizing that his seat would anytime soon be nullified by the Supreme Court.
President Sata has instructed his relative the Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda to nullify all seats that have been challenged.
