PF differ over Mkushi candidate

The ruling PF is divided over the adoption of Ingrid Mphande for Mkushi North, while some are in favour of her adoption, other party members have said that she is a weak candidate hence her loss in the 2011 elections.

The Mkushi North seat fell vacant after MMD’s Knorrasco Mutale Musonda defected to the PF in the hope that he would be adopted but through the influence of provincial chairman Benson Chali, the party adopted Mphande who is expected to file nomination papers tomorrow ahead of the 25th July by-election.

Provincial chairman Chali, is personally facing rejection from the party ranks and some members feel that his affiliation with the candidate will cost the ruling party the seat.

Even before nomination papers are filled, Chali has already declared Mphande winner, with hope that the PF will do their usual vote rigging as evidenced in previously induced by-elections.
