PF fails to find candidate for Mangango seat, want to play tricks

The ruling PF have failed to find a candidate for the recently nullified Mangango constituency by-election in Western province.

But in their usual crooked way of doing things, they intend to attempt and field Taundi Chiseke, the same person whose seat was nullified by the PF Supreme Court Bench knowing too well that the Electoral Commission of Zambia will reject his nomination.

Highly placed sources from with PF have told the Zambianwatchdog that PF have failed to find a candidate but now want to buy time by trying to field someone whom they know ECZ will not allow as there are other pending cases in courts of law regarding candidates whose seats were nullified.

“We have no candidate for the August Mangango by-elections nominations as everyone we are approaching has refused. But now want to buy time by fielding Chisekesi, the person whose seat we nullified so that we can consign it together with other seats such as those of Dora Siliya, Lucky Mulusa, Maxwell Mwale, Victoria Kalima and others,” said a highly placed PF source.

Sources also say if the election goes ahead, people will expect the ‘fit and health’ president Michael Sata to travel there for campaigns or it will raise more questions about his health.

“Can you imagine if president Sata fails to travel to Western province for campaigns yet he has been everywhere before. The people of Western province and the opposition will capitalise and say Sata hates you people which will be a humiliation defeat never seen before. And two defeats in a row to the UPND, our main competitor, just after Katuba constituency will also send a wrong signal to the nation,” sources said.

So far, seven by-elections namely Solwezi Central, Zambezi West, Mulobezi, Mkushi North, Petauke Central, Kasenengwa, Vubwi, Malambo, are on hold pending court ruling on the eligibility of the previous MPs from re-contesting their seats after nullifications.
