Minister of home affairs Davis Mwila has finally admitted that his office has received information of a collision of some parents and some politicians where under aged children are being registered as voters in exchange for money.
In a media statement, Mwila says his office has since constituted a team of investigators to ‘unearth’ the scam and warned that all those found wanting will be punished as the offence constitutes a criminal offence under the laws of Zambia.
Earlier this week, we exposed a scam where President Edgar Lungu has released huge sums of money to PF parliamentary candidate Kelvin Sampa who was ferrying young boys and girls to Kasama civic centre where they were being issued with National registration cards and later voters cards after being paid.
Both government and the campaign team for Kelvin Sampa have not disowned the expose. Lungu’s manouvres are imed at ensuring that UPND vice president and incumbent MP Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba famously known as GBM loses the seat at all costs.
