PF government fails to pay K5,000 electricity bill for Auditor General’s office

Broke PF government has failed to pay an electricity bill of K5,873.77 which has accumulated for the past seven months at the Kasama office of the Auditor general, forcing the power utility to disconnect supply today.

Government failed to honour the disconnection notice earlier written to them and dated 20th June 2016, giving an ultimatum of 48 hours in which to pay.

After the disconnection, frustrated workers started packing their belongings in readiness to leave but were stopped after being told that there were efforts to have supply restored. Most government ministries and departments are currently running on shoe string budget and cannot even afford stationery and simple items like tissue paper as their money allocations have been diverted to PF political campaigns.
