PF government’s chocking nepotism

PF government’s chocking nepotism

Ngilazi of ZNBC and his wife Chansa kabwera from Post

Dear Editor,

Please find and publish.
I write to express my dissapointment against the new Patriotic Front (PF) government which i voted for. As a Zambian, especially as a non Bemba speaking person i feel, nepotism has become too rife. Nepotism is the worst form of corruption that one can talk about. The President’s appointments starting from Cabinet ministers is skewed towards the Bemba speaking people. All key positions including the media heads that they had handpicked are all bemba.
Having the privledge of working in the government i have just had sight of the list of Diplomats going into foreign service. Most with a few exceptions are either relatives of the President or the ministers. Chishimba Kambwili, as appointed a cousin to be High Commissioner in Japan. GBM the defence minister also has relatives on the list. While appreciating the role played by the Post newspaper in the campaigns for the PF it is surely also immoral that Mr Henry Ngilazi, his wife Chanca Kabwela (Post Deputy Editor in Chief), Patson Chilema, should all be awarded diplomatic postings. What of other deserving Zambians? Apart from these the President has already over employed people from the Post newspaper. surely there are other well qualified and deserving Zambians who can work for their country.
I am also saddened at the retribution of political opponents in the MMD and UPND. This seems to have spread to the media institutions the Times, Daily Mail and ZNBC. The new Heads have been instructed to victimis the innocent workers at these institutions. Those peceived to have stronger links with theprevious government are being pegged. There is need for the President to look at these matters critically.
