PF govt should apologise for cheating Zambians on load-shedding-Mulongoti

People’s Party president Mike Mulongoti has charged that the PF government should apologise to Zambians for cheating that the current electricity load shedding was due to drought.
He said when Zambians said Zesco had overused water in the Kariba Dam due to the ‘defective’ Chinese equipment, the government said people did not know what they were talking about.
Mulongoti said on Wednesday morning that somebody must be sincere and humble enough to apologise to the nation than keep quite.
‘They told us to keep quite when we spoke out, that we did not know what we were talking about, now it is open that Zesco overused water and have been charged by the Kariba River Authority,’ Mulongoti said.
Zesco was fined US 685,000 dollars by the Zambezi River Authority for over utilisation of their water allocation in the Kariba dam by 3.2 billion cubic metres.
Meanwhile Mulongoti has charged that the PF government has wiped out all the money that the MMD government had collected from the mines when late President Levy Mwanawasa introduced windfall tax.
He said it was unfortunate that some people argue soundly for foreign investors at the expense of their people.
