PF govt withdraws housing allowances from Police officers

The PF government has withdrawn housing allowances from Police Officers across the country effective last month.

Police officers have complained that their housing allowances were withdrawn without any explanations from the top command.

They are wondering where the money was being taken since the last year’s budget was already approved and they were being paid until last month.

Recently, Police officers in Copperbelt stormed the Post newspaper and vowed to continue receiving bribery from Jerabos (Copper thieves) because there salaries were too low to support their families.

Their colleagues in Namwala have turned the Police Station into a court room and only prosecute cases where the accused have not paid them money.

Already the PF government removed various incentives from civil servants such as retention and transport allowances.
