Plans are under way by the corrupt PF regime to now begin stripping the state of its assets and manoeuvres are being made to sell off Findeco house in Lusaka and former President Rupiah Banda and Edgar Lungu’s political advisor Kaizer Zulu have set eyes on Findeco house at a give-away price.
Sources from the ministry of works and supply and the National Housing Authority – NHA who are the owners of the building which has been left in a dilapidated state have disclosed that there are under hand plans by the corrupt cartel to sell the asset to themselves.
According to our impeccable other option that they are making if they see that there is resistance to the scheme is to engage corrupt PF cadre Robinson Zulu’s Meanwood properties to renovate the building and then start to manage it. Zulu who is also the majority shareholder in Investrust Bank is the same crook who was involved in the National Pension Scheme Authority – NAPSA land scam involving millions of money during Rupiah Banda’s regime.
They have said that the country’s tallest 23 storey building requires about $7m to give it a facelift that would enable the owners to generate good money from rentals and that amount about one third of the over $20m cost for the new state house which Lungu wants built for him.
The sources in the ministry of works and supply have condemned the corrupt selling of the assets which will extend to current ministers’ houses and have said that there have been efforts to source for money to rehabilitate it but political bureaucracy has been blocking them because of the same ill conceived motives. In 2011, again there was a consortium of Chinese investors who were willing to refurbish the building and even provide for provision of a hotel but was blocked by government.
