PF is now gripped with fear of losing power-Dr Mumba

Movement for Multi- Party Democracy (MMD) president Dr Nevers Mumba has charged that the PF is griped with fear of losing this year’s elections.
And Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza has said it was strange that the Post Newspaper has been closed by ZRA yet public media owes them colossal amounts of money.
Dr Mumba said the PF has engaged in desperate and erratic last minute measures to hang on to power.
He said this on arrival at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola on Wednesday morning where he is scheduled to address several rallies on the Copperbelt together with the UPND leaders.
Dr Mumba said time to liberate Zambians from the shackles of the PF government has come adding that the closure of the Post Newspaper is one clear sign of the fear and anxiety that has gripped the PF government.
He noted that there are many parastatals with huge amounts of unpaid tax among them Times of Zambia, Nitrogen Chemicals, Zamtel and Zambia Railways who have not been targeted.
And FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza has said it was strange that the post has been closed by ZRA yet public media owes them colossal amounts of money.
Mwanza said the move to close the Post was unjust and strange because other companies and public media institutions owe the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) colossal amounts of money.
He charged that mining firms owe a lot in tax but have not been closed and urged the government to allow the Post to continue operating and generating income.
But Post Newspaper proprietor Fred Membe has maintained that the Post has met all its obligations with the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) and the only thing that was pending where disputed figures that the two parties had been trying to reconcile.
He said the PF government will not succeed in its attempts to close the paper and stressed that there was no Zambian company that has paid more tax to ZRA than the Post Newspapers.
