MMD wins back Mpulungu

MMD supporters

The Ruling Movement for Mutli-Party Democracy (MMD) has retained the Mpulungu parliamentary seat.
The MMD candidate Given Mun’omba polled 5,003.

The Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Freedom Sikazwe got 4,419.

National Restoration Party candidate, Alex Mwaza came third with 331 votes while UNIP’s Germanico Simusokwe polled 112 votes in the fourth position.

Alliance for Democracy and Development candidate Chilowela Sintangwe came out last with only 62 votes.

But the MMD has lost the local government elections in Nkwazi ward in Ndola, Kapoche in Petauke and Shiwangandu in Chinsali.
