A group of PF ministers and MPs are plotting to impeach acting President Guy Scott so that they can replace him with a puppet care taker President to allow them access to state facilities in the forthcoming by election.
A source close the PF faction led by defence and justice minister Edgar Lungu told the Zambian Watchdog that “with the court ruling that Lungu be the Presidential candidate in the January by election, they are worried that Guy Scott may not allow the abuse of state facilities for PF campaigns and because Lungu is not financially sound, they want to move an impeachment motion against Scott so that Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda or one of them can take over as caretaker President to facilitate state resources for Lungu’s campaigns”.
A meeting was held yesterday at a named private lodge where a scheme to fabricate allegations against Dr. Scott and thereby vote to remove him before the by election. It was resolved that allegations of endangering national security and contempt of court charges (for holding the Monday PF general conference in Kabwe) be preferred against Dr. Scott during the course of next week.
Some of the key ministers that attended yesterday’s meeting include labour – Fackson Shamenda, Home affairs – Ngosa Simbyakula and his deputy Stephen Kampyongo, Edgar Lungu, gender minister Inonge Wina, Mother and Child health Jean Kapata, Communications – Yamfwa Mukanga, Mines – Christopher Yaluma, RDA board chairperson Willie Nsanda and PF and some opposition MPs supporting Edgar Lungu for PF presidency.
