PF MP to replace Mkondo Lungu in Parliament

Chifunabuli MP Ernest Mwansa is set top become the new chairperson of all committees in parliament, the Watchdog has learnt.

Mwansa, a lawyer and member of the Patriotic Front, will replace Mkondo Lungu who was appointed Home Affairs minister recently.

By close of nominations to the position on Friday at 17 hours, Mwansa was unopposed in the race which the United Party for National Development(UPND) refused to participate.

This means there will be no voting and Mwansa is likely to be declared chairperson on Tuesday 29 June when parliament resumes sitting.

Mwansa is a former health deputy minister and member of the Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD)
