PF MPs reject motion to give Zambians constitution

PF MPs and oppositon MPs working for PF have voted against the motion, moved by Mazabuka MP Gary Nkombo, for Government to provide a roadmap on the enactment of the new Constitution ( 42 Yes – 69 No – 2 Absentees) This followed over 5 hours of debate. Parliament has now adjourned until a later date to be communicated.
Earlier, Monze MP Jack Mwimbu opened his debate by thanking the Zambian Watchdog for releasing the draft constitution to the public. This annoyed Shiwang’andu Member of Parliament Stephen Kapyongo who said Mwimbu should not thank the Watchdog.
