The Patriotic Front last week paid K200,600 to 223 MMD officials in North-Western Province to defect to the ruling party during President Edgar Lungu’s visit, according to the Post Newspaper.
According to a payment sheet dubbed “Estimates for successful MMD defections during Presidential visit to North-Western Province”, the PF paid as little as K85, 800 to MMD officials in 12 constituencies to defect.
Below is the breakdown of the K200, 600 that the PF spent on MMD officials at constituency, district and provincial level:

PF secretary general Davies Chama recently said the party was excited with the number of people from various opposition parties who have expressed interest to join. Chama said the party had become more attractive under the leadership of President Edgar Lungu.
