PF picks Misapa for Mporokoso

Maynard Misapa

The Patriotic Front (PF) has picked former  MP Maynard Misapa as its candidate for the Mporokoso by-election.
The Mporokoso parliamentary bye-election will be held on March 3, 2011.The seat fell vacant following the resignation of Maynard Misapa from the MMD, a day after he was fired from the position of Deputy Minister of Sport by President Rupiah Banda.
High ranking sources in the PF have confirmed that the party is just waiting for the right time to announce Misapa as its candidate.
Contrary to lies by PF spokesperson Given Lubinda on local radio stations on Sunday that the party was considering other applications, sources have revealed that the selection process was a closed one.
According to sources, the party agreed with Misapa even before he resigned that they will adopt him to stand on the part ticket if he crossed over.
And the MMD is said to be struggling to find a local candidate to adopt for the Mporokoso bye-election.
The MMD has already appointed Commerce Minister Felix Mutati as its campaign Manager for the parliamentary bye-election.
The MMD is said to be scouting for a Mporokoso resident to challenge Misapa.
