PF police arrest 21 UPND members in Choma

The PF police have arrested 21 suspected United Party for National Development (UPND) cadres in Choma for alleged rioting.
Deputy Inspector General of Police for administration Eugene Sibote has told the media that the 21 were arrested in connection with the ‘riot’ that occurred in Choma yesterday as Choma residents lined up the streets to welcome UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.
Sibote alleged that the suspected UPND cadres blocked traffic and threw stones at passing vehicles resulting in three police officers being injured.
UPND Spokesperson Charles Kakoma has however disputed the police version of events and has stated the police teargased innocent citizens and UPND members who had gathered to welcome the UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.
The police have however failed to arrest the PF cadres who attacked airport security officers at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport in Ndola when they stormed the airport to block Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa’s plane from landing.
