he PF regime is lamenting that traditional leaders in Southern province are ignoring them.

Minister of PF Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Lawrence Sichalwe has bitterly complained that chiefs in ‘Msanzi’ do not want PF presence at their traditional ceremonies.

He ‘cried’ that so far, the PF Government has not been invited to officiate at the Bene Mukuni traditional ceremony of Senior Chief Mukuni and the Lwiindi Gonde of Chief Monze.

“Traditional leaders are agents of Government and that’s why we pay them subsidies. Chiefs who don’t want to work with us should forfeit what they are benefiting from Government, ” he said.

But one chief told the Watchdog that most traditional leaders can survive, as they have done, from generation to generation without PF salaries.

The traditional leader said that it was an insult for the PF regime to insinuate that chiefs are only there to receive salaries from government.
