The Patriotic Front says it has taken over all funeral and medical expenses for victims of the Solwezi accident that claimed five lives and injured 42 others.
Secretary-General Wynter Kabimba announced that he has dispatched money for the five coffins and medical bills for those still admitted to hospital.
Meanwhile PF president Michael Sata has temporarily suspended his campaign programme in North-Western Province and spent whole of Friday visiting the funeral homes and hospital wards to check on the victims of the accidents, according to Kabimba.
Kabimba has sent messages of condolences to the families and the party leadership in the province. He also said he has dispatched a high-powered delegation of central committee members led by local government chairperson Given Lubinda.
The PF secretary general says the cold-hearted UPND and MMD members relishing this moment of grief to try and exploit political capital out of the deaths of PF supporters will yield nothing out of this tragedy which can happen to anyone .
