PF Serenje candidate arrested for vote buying

Zambia police in Serenje this morning summoned PF Serenje central parliamentary candidate Philip Kosamu for vote buying but he was released on instruction from Edgar Lungu, the PF presidential candidate.

Kosamu was giving people money on way to and from polling stations. Kosamu’s scam is part of the PF money released by Lungu.

Serenje based police officers confirmed the incident but in a public relations exercise, police headquarters refuted having arrested Kosamu but said he was only summoned and warned for his behaviour.

“The Zambia Police Service would like to dispel rumours going round that Serenje Central Patriotic Front aspiring candidate  Phillip Kosamu has been arrested by police for vote buying.

The facts of the matter are that he was  summoned at the police station and warned for his behaviour at the polling station in serenje and later left,” reads a press statement by spokesperson Rae Hamoonga.
