PF sidelines Taima, Mwanawasa, forced to adopt Mangani for Chipata

Richard-Taima-300x195The Patriotic Front (PF) has adopted Peter Ilunga as its candidate for the 25th July, 2013 Solwezi East parliamentary by-election rejecting Richard Taima who resigned from the MMD to cause the by-election.

The PF has also adopted James Chishiba for Kafulafuta rejecting former president Levy Mwanawasa’s son Patrick who ran on their ticket and lost. His application for adoption was rejected .
As late as last week, Mwanawasa was still trying to attract attention to the PF. See here.
Patrick Mwanawasa lost to MMD’s Chishiba in the 2011 general elections. Mwanawasa petitioned the results. But sensing that he will lose the petition, Chishiba resigned from the MMD and joined the PF which accepts all sorts of corrupt people as long as the pledge loyalty to the regime.

In Chipata Central, Lameck Mangani’s licking the boots of Fred M’embe has paid off as he has been adopted after M’membe ordered President Michael Sata and Wynter Kabimba to adopt him.

Mangani was used to pass information from former president Rupiah Banda to M’membe when he was Home Affairs minister. He was caught but because RB was a forgiving father, he just demoted him. Mangani then went flat out to fight RB and resigned to join the PF. But PF seceretary General Wynter Kabimba announced in December that Mangani was not one of them but just worked with him to dislodge the MMD. Kabimba even got bribe  money from other candidates after assuring him of adoption. Mangani went to cry at the feet of M’membe.

The decision to adopt Peter Ilunga for the Solwezi East was arrived after a PF Central Committee meeting held in Lusaka Saturday morning.

The Solwezi East seat fell vacant after MMD Member of Parliament Richard Taima resigned from the former ruling party to join the Patriotic Front (PF).

Taima was also serving in the PF government as Deputy Minister for Commerce.

Ingrid Mpande has been adopted for Mkushi North sidelining another MMD MP who resigned from the MMD thereby causing the by-election.
