PF Bwacha constituency Chairman Saidi Chibwana has been suspended from the party after selling a bus suspected to have been stolen, to PF Kabwe district. The Toyota Hiace bus has since been surrendered to police following Chibwana’s failure to produce importation papers.
According to investigations by the Watchdog, Chibwana sold a Hiace bus to the party at K35,000 in June last year. After being paid the money in full, he failed to produce Interpol and ZRA clearance certificates.
Chibwana, who runs a fleet of buses in Kabwe wanted to use underhand methods to obtain the documents so as to allow for change of ownership to PF but failed. The bus was impounded by police but central province minister and Kabwe district commissioner Patrick Chishala ordered police to release it. However in typical PF circus style, the party resolved to surrender it to police and demanded for the refund from Chibwana.
