PF thug Hamiyanze ordered to apologise in parliament

PF thug Opper Hamiyanze was this afternoon (Tuesaday) ordered to apologise to Monze Central UPND MP Jack Mwiimbu and Parliament for his disparaging remarks on Sky FM Radio on October 18.

Speaker Patrick Matibini, who gave a detailed background to Mwiimbu’s complaint, said the Committee on Absences, Privileges and Support Services had interviewed Mwiimbu, Hamiyanze and also listened to the recording of Hamiyanze’s remarks on Sky FM.
In the recording, Hamiyanze said MPs went to parliament drunk with brandy and whisky. Asked by the interviewer which MP went to parliament drunk and what evidence he had, Hamiyanze said Mwiimbu was drunk when he raised a Point of Order on the presentation of the 2013 national budget by then acting President Alexander Chikwanda.
Hamiyanze further added one did not need to be a medical doctor to tell that some MPs were drunk. He added that opposition MPs were out to frustrate Michael Sata government.
Speaker Matibini said considering all the evidence brought before it, the Committee established that, through his comments on Mwiimbu and the House in general, Hamiyanze was guilty of disparaging the Legislature and bringing its name into disrepute. He then ordered the ex-convict to read a written apology.
