ZESCO will this Thursday at Midnight increase electricity tariffs by 25% as an addition to the 50% which was increased on the 1st of May.
ZESCO Public Relations Manager HENRY KAPATA says the increase is as a result of the current demand which is not meeting the supply.
He says ZESCO is currently connecting an average of 200 people everyday.
Mopani copper mine is currently trying to offload its workforce due to the already heavy tariffs the PF regime imposed in May.
With the latest increase, it is expected that other mines will be affected and some companies wind up quietly.
