PF tribalism extended to UTH doctors

PF tribalism extended to UTH doctors

The entire leadership of Resident Doctors of Zambia at UTH has been suspended for what the national  commitee says is gross insurbordination and collecting allowances by fraud.

But, instead of handling the matter professionally and openly, the RDAZ national executive has appointed an anonymous clique of PF cadres to save as disciplonary committe.

INTERNAL MEMORANDUM
To : All Members
From : Secretary General
Date : 23rd June, 2017
RE : SUSPENSION – RDAZ UTH BRANCH EXECUTIVE

This serves to inform the membership that the entire RDAZ UTH Executive has been suspended with immediate effect. These include;
1. Dr Brian Mwachisowa – Chairperson
2. Dr Gabriel Sialubino – Vice Chairperson
3. Dr Inonge Simuyi – Secretary
4. Dr Helen Nyangu – Treasurer
5. Dr Taonga Shonga – Planner Committee
6. Dr Naeem Yosuf – Public Health Committee

Reasons for their suspension are:
1. Gross Insubordination
2. Misrepresenting the National Executive and the general membership
3. Obtaining settling in allowance for themselves by fraud

In brief on dates unspecified, the UTH Executive recently met and created a list with names of doctors including themselves to be paid settling in allowances and presented it to Ministry of Health without the knowledge of the National Executive. Furthermore, this list is fraudulent in that most of the doctors on the list are stationed at UTH and yet they appear to be stationed at other hospitals thereby disadvantaging doctors who are stationed at those hospitals and have been on the waiting list longer.

With this memo, the RDAZ National Vice President is requested to appoint a disciplinary committee to dispose this matter within 10 working days.

We therefore wish to reiterate that all Branch Executives are to follow channels of communication as prescribed by the RDAZ Constitution and the National Executive.

As doctors we expect all members to behave honorably towards each other.

Sincerely
