Lusaka Police on Tuesday questioned Patriotic Front (PF) secretary-general Wynter Kabimba over his call to party supporters to engage in violence. But Kabimba is said to have been unrepentant and told the Police the PF will use violence to defend itself. After interrogations, Kabimba told his supporters that ‘like in a home, when a thief breaks in and is about to kill, it was reasonably expected that occupants will take necessary measures, proportionate to the threat, to protect themselves.’ He said the PF not be intimidated by the MMD and by police summons because the party was in tune with the mood of change that the majority Zambians have entrusted it to deliver on September 20 this year. “People are resolved on changing government this year and no amount of police intimidation will work. We shall continue to defend ourselves when attacked unless the police take appropriate action, against the perpetrators of violence they must expect that we shall take necessary steps to defend ourselves,” Kabimba said after the interrogations.
